Is your practice, AMS or pharmacy able to stay open in a disaster situation?

In response to natural disasters like bushfires and flood, SWSPHN has taken on new responsibilities to put measures in place to support our community in times of emergency.

“We Are Open” is an initiative which focuses on supporting general practices, Aboriginal Medical Services and pharmacies to extend their opening hours at short notice in the event of disaster.

We are establishing a general practice workforce which will be ready to step in when they are needed most.
If a disaster occurs and your practice is in proximity to the affected area, SWSPHN would contact you to confirm your readiness to extend your hours (with days and times nominated by you).

The PHN would then communicate your extended opening hours to the community, including at evacuation centres, to emergency departments and those involved in the relief effort.

As part of this initiative, your practice would be willing to see new patients affected by the emergency.

If your practice is interested in participating in this initiative, please complete the express your interest below.
